The Vietnamese team was ranked second at the 4th Southeast Asian Junior Athletics Championships with 10 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze medals.

After two-day competitions at the Thong Nhat stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, the tournament wrapped up on June 7 with the championship going to Thailand whose athletes won 14 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Vietnamese athletes excelled in men’s 200m and 3,000m race, women’s high-jump, long-jump and women’s 200m and 800m running.

The tournament, which offers 30 sets of medals, drew the participation of 172 athletes from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei and Vietnam./.
