Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 792 COVID-19 cases were confirmed during six hours from 6am to 1pm on July 10, including 2 imported cases, according to the Health Ministry.

The 790 local cases are reported in HCM City (600), Tien Giang (75), Dong Thap (50), Vinh Long (26), Soc Trang (7), Hung Yen (7), Phu Yen (7), Bac Giang (4), Tra Vinh (2), Ca Mau (2), Bac Ninh (2), and one each in Ninh Thuan, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, Binh Dinh, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, and Ha Nam.

As of 1pm July 10, Vietnam logged 25,486 domestic infections and 1,914 imported cases.

The ministry’s Medical Examination and Treatment Department said 8,984 patients have recovered, and the national COVID-19 death toll rose to 110.

Among active patients, 333 have tested negative to the coronavirus once, 203 twice, and 80 thrice.

As of 4:00pm on July 9, a total 4,010,786 vaccine doses had been administered. A total of 258,274 people have received full two shots.

More than 2 million doses of COVID-19 Moderna vaccine supplied by the US Government through the COVAX Facility arrived in Vietnam early July 10.

The same day, Vietnam officially launched the national COVID-19 vaccine drive, towards the goal of inoculating more than 70 percent of the population by the end of the first quarter of 2022./
