Vietnam and Cuba signed the minutes of the 30th session of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-Governmental Committee on Economics, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation in Havana on September 18.

Talking to the press after the signing ceremony, Vietnam’s Minister of Construction, Trinh Dinh Dung, the head of the Vietnam-Cuba sub-committee and Cuba’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, head of the Cuba-Vietnam sub-committee said the two sides had agreed on measures to carry out cooperation agreements made during 2012-2013, especially in pharmaceuticals, bio-technologies, health, education, investment and urban planning.

Minister Dung said the agreement will open a new phase of development in Vietnam-Cuban relations.

Malmierca Diaz suggested that both parties exchange their experiences to strengthen mutual understanding, so joint cooperation plans can be carried out more effectively.

Vietnam is now Cuba ’s second biggest Asian trading partner.-VNA
