Vietnam and Cuba have signed a cooperation programme for 2011 between their finance ministries and a minute on their review of the bilateral cooperation programme in 2010.
The signing was made during a working visit to Cuba by Vietnam’s Deputy Finance Minister Do Hoang Anh Tuan from Nov. 14-17, which aimed to boost cooperation in finance and customs between the two countries.
During his talk with Cuban Minister of Finance and Prices Lina Pedraza, Tuan said he was pleased at the effective cooperation between the two ministries over the recent time.
He affirmed the support of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and people to Cuba’s economic model updating process, saying Vietnam is eager to exchange experiences with Cuba in various fields such as designing and executing tax policies, streamlining personnel, allocating State budget and issuing policies to attract investment.
Minister Pedraza expressed thanks to Vietnam for its solidarity, brotherhood and whole-hearted assistance to Cuba, and explained economic policies that the Cuban Government will execute in the coming years in order to push up the country’s economy, and preparations for the sixth congress of the Cuban Communist Party.
On the occasion, seminars on experiences in designing and implementing tax policies and customs management were also held with the participation of Vietnamese and Cuban experts./.
