Deputy Head of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee’s Ideology Department Angel Arzuaga on July 16 received Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Do Quy Doan who was visiting Cuba from July 9.

Angel Arzuaga briefed the Vietnamese guest on press activities in Cuba, emphasising the role of the press in the field of ideology and building of socialism in the country.

Do Quy Doan introduced the fast development of Vietnam’s press and expressed his hope for further cooperation with Cuba in the ideological field.

He spoke highly of the effective cooperation between his ministry’s Press and International Communications Cooperation Centre and Cuba’s Mundo Latino film studio in making a film on late President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro, which is expected to be shown on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (December 2, 1960-December 2, 2010).

During his stay in Cuba, Deputy Minister Do Quy Doan had working sessions with the Ministry of Informatics and Communications, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba. He also visited the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, the Cuban Radio and Television, and the Havana-based International Cinema University./.
