This was shared by Vice President of the Ministers’ Council of Cuba Jose Ramon Fernandez and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Hoang Tuan Anh in Cuba on June 1.

During their meeting, the Vietnamese minister informed his Cuban host of the results of his working sessions with relevant Cuban agencies with the aim of bolstering bilateral cooperation in culture, sports and tourism.

Minister Tuan Anh also briefed the Cuban leader of Vietnam ’s political situation and its socio-economic achievements made in the recent past.

The Cuban leader conveyed warm greetings from President Raul Castro to Vietnamese Party, State and Government leaders and people and expressed the Cuban people’s admirations to the Vietnamese nation’s braveness to fight for independence and freedom.

He also expressed thanks to Vietnam’s support for Cuba at international forums where Vietnam demanded the US lift embargo and blockage against Cuba.

The same day, Minister Tuan Anh held a working session with Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz on the signing of a tourism cooperation programme between the two countries in the 2010-2013 period.

Both sides showed wishes to enhance the exchange of visits to further promote both countries’ images and tourism industries in the future.

On the occasion, a Vietnamese film week opened in Cuba in which many prize-winning films, like Dung Dot (Don’t burn), and Chuyen cua Pao (Pao’s story), are screened./.
