– The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and the Novicom Company of the Czech Republic have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cyber security cooperation.

The Mou was signed by VNPT Deputy General Director To Manh Cuong and Novicom Sales Manager Jindrich Savel in Prague on April 14 within the framework of an official visit to the Czech Republic by a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly led by its Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan said strengthening bilateral cooperation in information and communication technology (ICT) was one of the important contents in the NA delegation’s agenda during its visit to the Czech Republic.

He highlighted the ICT development in Vietnam, saying that the Government of Vietnam identified that sector as a key driving force for national development and modernisation, thus enhancing the nation’s competitiveness and international integration.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has worked with relevant bodies to complete the legal corridor on information security while cooperating with organisations, associations and enterprises and community to ensure sustainable development of information security, Tuan said.

For his part, Bohussalav Chalupa, a member of the Czech Parliament, said the Czech Republic is willing to share with Vietnam its experience in the sector, including procedures to build legal documents and enhance education-training related to information security.-VNA
