The Vietnamese, who was sent in to play against the 10-man Thai team from the 51st minute, would have scored more if not for the team striker, who wasted numerous scoring opportunities in the first half.
In the first semi-final match, Myanmar defeated Malaysia 3-0. Vietnam will play Myanmar in the final match on August 23.
