Vietnam and Denmark on September 19 issued a joint statement on their comprehensive partnership. Following are excerpts of the document.
The two countries will continue intensifying their regular contacts and dialogues by their leaders.
They support a system based on the principles of fairness, equality and multilaterality, in which the United Nations plays the central role in settling the regional and global issues, working out political and peaceful solutions for international disputes through consultations, dialogues and negotiations in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law.
The two sides reiterate their determination to foster their bilateral trade relations as well as trade promotion activities so as to raise the two-way trade and capital flow in both countries.
They stressed the importance of the signing of a joint statement in November 2011 on the establishment of their strategic partnership in the fields of climate change, environment, energy and green growth.
The two sides also stressed the importance of the signing of a tripartite cooperation agreement on green growth between Vietnam, the Republic of Korea and Denmark in 2012 in order to help Vietnam implement its Green Growth Strategy.
They pledged to support cooperation activities between the two countries’ educational and research institutions, and to continue cooperating in education and research at bilateral and multi-lateral levels, especially through the Asia-Europe Meeting.
Both leaders agreed that priority will be given to educational cooperation and human resources development of common benefits, including higher education and vocational training.
The two sides will also further step up cultural cooperation and exchanges.
The two Foreign Ministries will build a biennial joint action plan to ensure the effective implementation of the Joint Statement.-VNA
