Senior officials from Vietnam and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) expressed their wish for sustainable friendship between the two countries at a get-together in Hanoi on September 6 to mark the 65 th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

It was stated by Chairman of the Vietnam-DPRK Friendship Association (VDFA) Pham Tat Dong and DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Chang-il.

Addressing the function, Chairman Dong said he sees new developments in the traditional relations between Vietnam and the DPRK.

Ambassador Kim Chang-il, in his speech, thanked the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Government for treasuring bilateral ties over the past time.

He noted that fraternal friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the DPRK have come a long way over the past 60 years, driving bilateral ties through the exchange of delegations from political, economic and cultural bodies.

During the period, people-to-people exchange also progressed well.

The event was co-hosted by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and the VDFA.-VNA
