The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on July 5 held talks with a visiting delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland in Hanoi.

The two sides briefed each other on the socio-economic situation in each country and the two fronts’ achievements over recent years.

The two sides agreed that they will closely work together in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two fronts, contributing to developing the solidarity and traditional relations between both countries.

Along with promoting the involvement of both peoples in cooperation programmes by the two countries, the two sides will also exchange information, while coordinating with each other on common issues as well as regional and international matters of mutual concerns.

At the same time, the two fronts will also step up delegation exchanges to share experience and strengthen the cooperation among civilian organisations of both countries.

Earlier the same day, VFF Central Committee President Huynh Dam received Chief of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the DPRK’s Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland Kim Wan Su.

They expressed their pleasure at the sound relationship between the two fronts, Parties, governments and peoples, which was initialed by late President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il-sung and adopted by generations of both countries.

President Huynh Dam congratulated the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland on its 66 th anniversary. He thanked the DPRK for the support that the country has given to Vietnam .

He praised the achievements made by the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland in recent years, and expressed his belief that DPRK will continue to reap more success in their national defence and construction.-VNA
