Moscow (VNA) - Kazakhstan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ermek Kosherbayev described Vietnam as an attractive destination for businesses all over the world at the 9th meeting of the Vietnam-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Committee for Economic-Trade and Science-Technology Cooperation.

The official said Kazakhstan enterprises have expressed their interest in importing Vietnamese marine fish since Vietnam inked the free trade deal with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Both sides pose huge potential to boost all-round cooperation through such important cooperative mechanisms as the intergovernmental committee, he said, hoping decisions made at the 9th meeting will help elevate the bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong laid stress on the sound development in bilateral ties, with stronger growth in two-way trade which stood at only 200 million USD before the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the EAEU was inked.

Vietnam is striving to seek new measures to handle trade and economic issues, he said, wishing both nations will expand trade and investment ties following this meeting.

At the event held in the Kazakhstan capital of Nur-Sultan, both sides affirmed their wish to boost bilateral collaboration in various fields, while highlighting that the intergovernmental committee plays an important role in cooperation between the two nations./.
