Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam entered the 47th straight day without any COVID-19 infections in the community, as no new cases were recorded on October 19 morning, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The tally stayed unchanged at 1,134, of whom 1,031 have been treated successfully.

Among patients under treatment, seven tested negative to SARS-CoV-2 once, four twice and 12 thrice. The country currently records no cases in critical conditions. The number of fatalities stands at 35.

As many as 12,379 people nationwide who had close contact with patients or entered from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine.

The pandemic continues developing complicatedly in many countries. Many organisations forecast the pandemic to prolong until 2021./.
