Finland’s latest technology in waste water treatment and renewable energy and clean technology solutions, as well as Vietnam's clean technology development potential were introduced at a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City on Sept. 7.
The seminar on Finland’s clean technology offered solutions to competitive capability and sustainable development and drew the participation of Vietnamese Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Finnish Labour Minister Anni Sinnemaki, 15 Finnish businesses and Vietnamese energy and environment businesses and experts.
Vietnam, which is predicted to be one of ten nations that will be hit hardest by climate change, is in urgent need of effective energy technology, said the seminar.
Finland’s clean technology companies said they are seeking direct partners in Vietnam to join in settling environmental and energy challenges that the nation is facing.
Cleantech Finland Executive Director Santtu Hulkkonen said they were pleased at the development of the two countries’ cooperation in solutions and technology for sustainable environments, particularly water resources management.
Finnish businesses – pioneers in environmental protection solutions and technology – are willing to set up and maintain long-term relationships with Vietnamese partners, said the Vice President of Neste Renewable Energy Company’s New Ventures Investment Fund.
A memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Finnish Global Chemical Company KEMIRA and Vietnam National Chemicals Group (Vinachem) was signed on this occasion./.
