Vietnam fails to win in Summer Universiade in Russia

The 30-student team competed in chess, table tennis, gymnastics and track-and-field.

The highest Vietnamese result was 21st place (out of 71 masters) by chess master Vo Thi Kim Phung, Asia 's under-20 champion.

The male gymnastic team ranked 18 out of 34. In the table tennis, the men's team was disqualified from the last-eight rounds.

And all track-and-field competitors failed to pass the qualifying round.

After 11 days of competition, Russia took top place with 155 golds, followed by China and Japan .

The Games attracted more than 10,000 participants from 175 countries and territories. They competed in 351 medal events.

The next Games will be held in Gwangju City , the Republic of Korea , in 2015.-VNA
