Artists aged 18 or over are invited to send their artworks ranging from painting, sculpture, performance art to graphic design, video art and installation art to the Vietnam Fine Arts Exhibition 2015.

Original artwork were produced between 2011 and 2015 by artists aged 18 or over highlighting the daily life of Vietnamese people, especially in building and safeguarding country.

The qualifying round will take place from July 6-12 and the final round will be held in September with an exhibited collection of selected works.

A panel of experts will select winners for two categories, painting, graphic design, performance art, video art and other contemporary arts in the first category and sculpture and installation art in the second.

First-place winners will receive 50 million VND (2,300 USD) in cash.

Addressing the launching ceremony on March 16 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said the Vietnam Fine Arts Exhibition 2015, which convenes every five years, is the largest fine art society event in the country. The event is designed to gain an insight into the nation’s fine arts development as well as honour its achievements.

The Government looks to encourage the development of national fine arts.

The exhibition was organised by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in collaboration with the provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
