Vietnam fosters special relations with Laos

Visiting National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu made the affirmation while meeting with Lao Vice President Bounnhang Volachit and Prime Minister Thongsinh Thammavong in Vientiane on July 29.

He briefed the hosts on the outcomes of a recent workshop on macro economic development experience hosted between the two NAs.

He spoke highly of the Lao NA’s initiative to organise symposia on investment cooperation between the two countries and their participation in the ASEAN Community in 2015.

The Lao leaders appreciated the effective cooperation between the two legislatures, especially the successful organisation of the workshop.

They thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and people for the assistance they have given to Laos over the past time and expressed wish that in the time to come, the two sides will strengthen trade and investment ties, thus fostering the special friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
