More than 500 Vietnamese businesses and 120 French companies are participating in the “Vietnam-France Business Forum”, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on April 8.
The forum aims to create favourable conditions to develop partnerships between the two countries’ businesses.
During the two-day event, companies will introduce their strengths and discuss how to develop business activities.
The French businesses have an opportunity to receive consultation from more than 20 specialists in Vietnamese banking, taxation, human resources and intellectual property.
Nicole Bricq, French Minister of Foreign Trade, expressed her interest and priority to develop an economic partnership with Vietnam.
The forum creates opportunities for French businesses to expand their market in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, she said.
Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said that the series of events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties is an opportunity to diversify mutual cooperation and help companies expand their markets and business relationships.
The city has implemented open policies to attract foreign investment and prioritised development in high value sectors, technology and the environment, he added.
Within the forum’s framework, seminars on Vietnam’s business environment, consumers and development demand will be held to provide French partners with more useful information.
The forum is jointly held by the French Agency for International Business Development (UBIFRANCE), French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.-VNA
