Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has held talks with French Higher Education and Research Minister Valerie Pecresse and official from some universities of France on a project to build a university of technologies in Vietnam with assistance from France .

About 40 French universities will participate in the project, which has an estimated investment capital of 100 million USD by 2011.

During the working session on Oct. 5 and 6 with the French side, Deputy PM Nhan said the project will contribute greatly to the development of higher education in Vietnam .

Prof. Pierre Seban from the University of Paris-South, member of the project’s planning board, said that preparations are going smoothly and the protocol on the project is expected to be signed in November between the two governments.

According to the Deputy PM, the Ministry of Education and Training are working on four projects to establish universities in cooperation with foreign countries, including the cooperation plan with France and another, with Germany./.
