Vietnamese martialartists shined on December 21 during the SEA Games 27 in Myanmar withseven golds, bringing the national team’s total to 73 against thepreviously set goal of 70.
In Kempo, Hong Ngoc outplayed heropponent in the women’s 48kg category, earning the first gold medal inthis sport for the Vietnamese team.
Duo Le Duong Lan Phuong and Tran Thi My Duyen clinched another gold in the performance event.
InTaekwondo, Nguyen Trong Cuong knocked out his Cambodian rival of themen’s 87kg category. This was the fifth gold medal to the taekwondoteam, fulfilling its target at the SEA Games.
Vovinam artists HoMinh Tam and Nguyen Thi Kim Hoang won golds in the men’s 65kg and thewomen’s U55kg categories, respectively.
In Muay, Bui Yen Lytriumphed in the women’s 51kg event, while her teammate Nguyen Thi Ngocbagged another gold in the women’s 60kg event.
By December 21,with 73 golds, Vietnam ranked third in the medal tally. Thailand securedits first place with 103 golds, followed by the host Myanmar with 82gold medals. Indonesia was in fourth place with 64 golds.
Thebiggest regional sport event will close on December 22 night. During thefinal competition day, Vietnamese athletes are competing in SepakTakraw.-VNA
