Vietnam, Guangdong businesses forge trade ties

Businesses from China’s Guangdong province are hoped to promote investment in Vietnam in the fields of support industry, processing industry and energy, as well as increase bilateral import-export activities.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry andTrade has also asked the Guangdong authorities to hold regular tradeexchanges and make it easier for Vietnamese enterprises operating in theprovince, said Deputy Minister Nguyen Cam Tu at a December 9 tradeconference in Ho Chi Minh City.

According toGuangdong Vice Governor Zhao Yu Fang, Vietnam boasts a dynamic economyand commercial development, which will be fundamental for promotingbilateral cooperation for mutual benefits.

She addedthat Guangdong has exerted every effort to create favourable conditionsfor foreign enterprises to do business in the province, especially ininformation technology, electronics, architecture, transportation andenvironment.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the HCMCity People’s Committee Le Manh Ha stressed that the city alwayswelcomes overseas investors, including those from Guangdong province.

He said he hopes the conference will be a good chancefor businesses to seek partners and enhance bilateral cooperative tiesin wide-ranging fields.

He underlined thesimilarities in tourism shared by his city and China’s locality,including their affiliation to services and professional training in thesector.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Guangdongwas recorded at 8.83 billion USD in the first nine months of this year,a year-on-year increase of 43.1 percent.

More than 40 businesses from Guangdong province are investing in Vietnam with a total capital of over 2.4 billion USD.-VNA

Attending the forum during his working visit to Tanzania, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Hong Dien said the two economies were highly complementary. Cashless payments open gateway to financial inclusion

Cashless payments continued to grow rapidly in the first eight months of 2026. The number and value of cashless transactions rose 34.56% and 13.26% year-on-year, respectively, while online transactions increased 46.57% in number and 21.77% in value.
