The Public Security Ministry’s Social Order Crime Police on July 17 handed over a man from the Republic of Korea, who was wanted for a jewellery shop robbery in his home country, to the RoK Interpol.

Pyeon O Man, 50, allegedly attacked a jewellery shop owner with a knife in Seoul making off with goods worth 300,000 USD. Afterwards, he fled to Vietnam on May 6 and rented a house in Binh Hung commune, Binh Chanh district on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.

The RoK Interpol issued an international wanted notice for him on June 16. The RoK General Consulate in HCM City issued a diplomatic note requiring the Vietnamese Police to help arrest Pyeon O Man.

Pyeon O Man was arrested at a public Internet shop in Ward 4 of HCM City’s Tan Binh district on July 2./.
