A ground breaking ceremony was held in Vientiane on Dec. 2 to start the construction of the Lao National Assembly office with funding from Vietnam.

Vietnamese Deputy NA Chairman Nguyen Duc Kien and his Lao counterpart Pany Yathotou assigned the related parties to work responsibly to complete the project on time, making it a symbol of the Vietnam-Laos special friendship.

The 5,200 sq.m five storey building is being built at a cost of 170 billion VND.

Earlier, on Dec. 1, construction of a television station started in southern Laos’ Champasak province, the first of four built with Vietnam’s non-refundable aid worth 55.680 billion VND.

The other three stations will be built in Luang Prabang, Savannakhet and Oudomxay provinces./.
