Vietnam and Laos have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on studying the feasibility of a rubber tree planting project and the building of a rubber processing factory in Laos’ Salavan province.
The MoU was inked by Lao Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Bounthavy Sisouphanthong and Le Van Luu, Chairman and CEO of the Quang Tri Rubber Company, in Vientiane on December 20.
The rubber planting project in Samuoi district is part of investment cooperation between Salavan and Quang Tri provinces.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Luu said his company has enough conditions to successfully implement the project in accordance with the policies and laws of Laos .
He expressed his wish that the Lao authorities will create favourable conditions for the company to carry out the project, helping boost cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and between the twin provinces in particular./.
