President of the SOS Children’s Villages International Siddhathar Kaul has been presented with an insignia for his contributions to humanitarian and development activities in Vietnam.

Addressing the ceremony in Hanoi on December 24, President Siddhathar Kaul thanked the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations for providing him with the award, saying he will further engage in children support activities.

From 1988 to 2012, Siddhathar Kaul, in charge of the international organisation’s activities in Vietnam , had helped Vietnam in building SOS children’s villages and schools.

He played part in courting international aid for nearly 60 projects in 16 local provinces and cities to help hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese children.

Moreover, he called on domestic and foreign organisations to provide hundreds of millions of USD for Vietnam ’s development activities.-VNA
