Vietnam hopes to continue receiving expertise and financial assistance from the UNESCO for the preservation and promotion of values of the country’s internationally-recognised heritages.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan made the statement when receiving Director of UNESCO’s World Heritage Center Kishore Rao in Hanoi on September 10.

He appreciated the close cooperation between the center and the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO in the past years.

He also gave special thanks to the director for his assistance to Vietnamese agencies’ compilation of dossiers on “Trang An and Cat Ba beauty spots”.

Nhan said that Vietnam hopes to continue being supported by the centre in preparing or compiling any dossier before sending it to the UNESCO.

For his part, Kishore Rao spoke of what the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO has done for the UNESCO in the past years.

He also expressed belief that Vietnam will do its best to well preserve the UNESCO-recognised tangible and intangible cultural heritages.-VNA
