Vietnam hosts Argentina Culture Week

An Argentina Culture Week began in Hanoi on December 14, showcasing a range of typical cultural and artistic features to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Theculture week, which will run through December 18, comes in the wake ofthe Vietnam Culture Week, which was held in Argentina in September.

As part of the week-long event, the Hanoi Opera House willhost the Argentine Tango and Folklore Concert on Dec. 16 night,featuring Seleccion Nacional de Tango and Compadia Nuevo Arte Nativo.

Co-organisedby Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and theArgentine Ministry of Culture, the event will also feature a photoexhibition entitled Eva Peron, Ambassador of Peace on Tuesday at theNational Library in Hanoi. The exhibition will be dedicated to EvaPeron, the late Argentine President's wife (1919-1952).

Apresentation of the Vietnamese version of Eva Peron's book, La Razon demi vida (The reason of my life), and a seminar depicting her life andcareer will also be held on the same day and at the same venue.

Theevent will continue with the Argentine Film Week, which will open onDec. 18 and close with Aniceto by Leonardo Favio and will be shown atthe Hanoi National Cinema.

Other feature films to bescreened later are Revolucion: El cruce de los Andes (Revolution: TheCrossing of the Andes) by Leandro Ipia, Vino para robar (To Fool aThief) by Ariel Winograd and animated film Anima Buenos Aires by MariaVeronica Ramirez.

Argentina's Ambassador to Vietnam,Claudio R. Gutierrez, expressed hope that the Argentina Culture Weekwould open new avenues for cultural cooperation between the twocountries, and especially help in familiarising each other's people withthe countries' typical cultural identities.-VNA

National Radio Festival opens in Quang Ninh

People’s Artist Nguyen Hoang Tuan, Chairman of the Hanoi Theatre Association, noted that while northern Vietnam had 27 puppetry guilds in 1986, only 14 remain today. Many traditional plays and original scripts have been lost, hurting restoration and preservation efforts.

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
