Hanoi (VNA) - More than 20 artists from Vietnam and 10 other Asian countries are taking part in a four-day exchange programme starting on August 21 in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

They will paint in an open camp at the Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel and then display their works at an exhibition in downtown Hanoi.

Five artists from Vietnam are among them, Le The Anh, Vu Bach Lien, Nguyen Nghia Phuong, Nguyen Vu Quyen, and Vu Dinh Tuan.

There are 17 others from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Department, said in recent years the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has hosted various exhibitions and exchange activities with artists from Asian countries to create friendly and co-operative relations among artists in the region.

The works created in Ninh Binh will be displayed at an exhibition at 29 Hang Bai Street from August 25 to September 3.-VNA
