Vietnam hosts regional geological meeting

46th annual meeting in the oil-rich province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on
October 19.

46th annual meeting in the oil-rich province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on
October 19.
The meeting, which drew representatives from 14 member countries as well as a number of observers and interested organisations, focuses on issues of global concern such as climate change and global warming.
The four-day event will also discuss measures to facilitate information among member countries and human resources development.
It will highlight know-how to tap geological resources in a sustainable, environmentally friendly manner.
The geo-scientific meeting aims to help East and Southeast Asian nations build their own strategies and policies on developing and profiting from their geological resources in a way that harmonises with both the environment and national interests, said organisers from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the National Vietnam Oil and Gas Group./.
