The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), in conjunction with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), held a seminar on the implementation of the ILO-Vietnam Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) in the 2012-16 period.

The seminar aimed at raising the awareness of relevant parties of the DWCP and enhancing the linkage between policy makers and enforcement bodies to boost sustainable employment.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Ba Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Institute of Labour , Science and Social Affairs under the MoLISA, emphasised the need to perfect the legal and policy framework for the field, put in place a social dialogue mechanism, and establish a division to inspect and assess the implementation of the programme’s goals.

According to the ministry, after one year of implementation, the programme has collected and analysed useful data to help build effective policies and strategies on developing the labour market and sustainable employment, improving the business environment for the private sector and expanding social welfare coverage.

In the time to come, priority will be given to making laws and policies related to employment, enhancing law enforcement capacity and strengthening cooperation between relevant parties in the field.-VNA
