Mobilising officers to take part in peacekeeping missions and deploying field hospitals in South Sudan in recent years have contributed to affirming Vietnam’s role in the activities of the United Nations.

At the request of the United Nations for level 2 field hospitals, Vietnam’s peacekeeping officers will examine and treat up to 40 outpatients and perform up to three to four surgeries, 10 x-rays and 10 dental treatments a day with two emergency teams

Since taking over the mission on October 1, 2018 in South Sudan, 63 members of Vietnam's second-level No 1 field hospital have shown strong determination and have been highly appreciated by international friends.

The presence of the Vietnamese officers in South Sudan signals the country’s responsibility toward the international community and its aim to contribute to global peace and consolidate national peace and stability.-VNA
