Vietnam and Israel inked two security cooperation documents during a working visit of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to the Middle East country from March 21-24.

Senior Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu, who is a Standing Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Major General Dan Harel, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defence, had talks on defence and security collaboration.

They signed a memorandum of understanding on an industrial and technological alliance in internal security and another on classified information protection.

Meanwhile, at a meeting with Israeli Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Yitzhak Aharonovitch, Hieu and the host tabled the implementation of agreements reached by the two sides during a recent visit by Aharonovitch to Vietnam .

They also discussed affiliation in cyber security, trans-national crime fighting, logistics and technology.

During their stay in Israel, the Vietnamese delegation visited some companies of the Israeli Ministry of Defence which specialises in producing security equipment, a counter-terrorism special unit and a criminal science institute of the Israeli Ministry of Public Security.-VNA
