Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Japan should join hands to equip their UN peace-keeping forces with sufficient knowledge and experience to complete tasks in various area around the world.

Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh made the statement while receiving Japanese military attaché colonel Keitaro Shido on April 3.

The Vietnamese officer spoke highly of the sound cooperation between the two defence ministries, expressing his hope that the ministries will further efficient, comprehensive and sustainable collaboration, making defence cooperation become one of the pillars in the two countries’ partnership.

For his part, Keitaro Shido valued Vietnam’s position in the region and highlighted that Japan is willing to cooperate and facilitate condition for the two militaries to share experience and facilities to develop their peace-keeping forces in line with regulations of each nation and the UN.-VNA
