According to the ENV, the most important thing when conserving tigers isto protect their natural habitat as well as step up enforcement of thelaw to prevent tiger and tiger products trading.

Itis also necessary to raise the public’s awareness and to encourage themto join in efforts to protect this endangered species and lower thedemand for tiger products.

Statistics show that inVietnam, there are just roughly 30 tigers scattered across nationalparks and reserves, mainly in the central region and forests along theborders with Laos and Cambodia.

Over the past 15years, the global tiger population has decreased rapidly due to illegalhunting and the demand for their bones or skins as medicines.

The International Tiger Coalition estimates that there are less than 3,500 wild tigers left in the world./.

Ministry proposes seven-day 2027 Lunar New Year holiday

Under the Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal, civil servants and public employees in Vietnam would receive five statutory days off, including two days before and three days after the Lunar New Year.
