A delegation from Vietnam , headed by Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, is joining the 13th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which opened on March 1 in Geneva .

The session, which lasts until March 26, saw the participation of delegations from over 80 countries across the world.

From March 1-3, more than 70 officials at the session will give speeches on their countries’ efforts in human rights protection.

The Council will focus on issues such as the global economic-political crisis and the human rights situation worldwide and discussed a draft declaration on education and human rights training.

Within the framework of the session, independent human rights experts will present their views on such issues as the right to food and housing as well as the protection of human rights in the fight against terrorism./.
