Kazakhstani Deputy Foreign Minister Askar Mussinov has affirmed that his country attaches importance to promoting all-around ties with Vietnam and suggested tightening cooperation between the two nations.

Speaking at the 7 th session of the Kazakhstan-Vietnam Inter-governmental Committee for Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation recently convened in Kazakhstan’s capital city of Astana, Mussinov said both countries should enhance the organisation of high-level meetings between their leaders and investment and trade promotion seminars towards fostering cooperation in all fields in the future.

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong stated that the free trade agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) – encompassing Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgystan – was officially ratified by President Truong Tan Sang on August 19.

He suggested Kazakhstan take similar steps to make the deal effective, enabling the two countries’ enterprises to access a larger market with 190 million people and tap the great potential in trade and investment cooperation.

During the session, the two sides were delighted with results reached in the recent cooperation in economic, commercial, scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries while discussing measures to further strengthen affiliations.

They agreed to continue boosting links in politics, economics-trade, investment, tourism, education, science-technology and culture in the future.

On October 22, a meeting of 20 enterprises was arranged in Kazakhstan, providing them a chance to seek cooperation opportunities.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Doan Thi Xuan Hien said that her agency will serve as a bridge connecting Vietnamese and Kazakhstani enterprises and promoting the implementation of agreements reached between the two nations.-VNA
