The Vietnamese State and people will do their utmost to foster the traditional friendship and multi-faceted ties with Belarus, including cooperation in defence and military technique.

Visiting National Assembly Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son made the statement during his meeting with Belarusian Defence Defence Minister Zhadobin U. V. on December 3.

The two sides highly valued the new developments of bilateral relations in various fields, particularly defence.

Both host and guest acknowledged that Vietnam and Belarus see great potential for defence industry cooperation as they hold strengths in military technique in the fields of air defence and e-reconnaissance.

They applauded the two defence ministries’ measures to strengthen multi-field cooperation with defence ties being an important pillar, including Belarus’ help to train Vietnamese military officers.

The two sides expressed their belief that cooperation agreements reached by the two defence ministries will help create a new momentum for furthering Vietnam-Belarus ties.

The Vietnamese guest stressed that amid changes in the world political and security situations, the strengthening of cooperation and exchange of experience in building armed forces and issues of mutual concern between the two ministries will foster trust and understanding as well as friendship and cooperation for the peace, stability and development of each country and the world.

Vice Chairman Son affirmed the Vietnamese National Assembly always supports cooperation between the two defence ministries.

Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Belarusian Military Academy and met with military experts who used to help Vietnam during wartime.-VNA
