A ceremony to offer insignias, medals and certificates of merit of the Laotian Party, State and Government to staff of the Vietnam People’s Army was held in Hanoi on Dec. 14.
The ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister Lieutenant-General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Chief of the General Political Department of the Lao People’s Army, Lieutenant-General Sengnouane Sayalat and many officers from the two countries’ armies.
Addressing the event, Lt. Gen. Vinh expressed his thanks to the Laotian Party, State and Government as well as its people for helping Vietnam during the country’s times of war and peace.
He also recognised the solidarity and friendship between the two armies under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
Vinh affirmed that Vietnam would do its best to support the development of Laos and promote the special friendship between the two countries./.
