Vietnam’s port city of Hai Phong and the Lao province of Vientiane have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in education-training, investment-trade, infrastructure for the 2011-2015.

An agreement to this effect was singed at a working session between the two localities’ leaders in Hai Phong on June 30.

Under the document, both sides highly valued the role, significance and importance of the relations between the two localities over the past 10 years and affirmed to continue promoting the ties on a basis of equal cooperation and mutual benefit, contributing to strengthening the special solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos .

In the 2011-2015 period, both sides agreed to boost the exchange of delegations of Party agencies and mass organisations and enhance cooperation in education-training, tourism, investment-trade and infrastructure.

Hai Phong has so far provided its twin locality with 1.5 billion VND to build classrooms, 29 sets of computers and 10 tonnes of rice seeds, and granted two scholarships for Lao officials to learn the Vietnamese language in Vietnam.

On this occasion, the Lao delegation presented Hai Phong with the Labour Order, first class, of Laos in recognition of its contributions to the development of Vientiane province./.
