Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, CambodianMinister of Industry, Mines and Energy Suy Sen and Lao Minister ofEnergy and Mines Soulivong Daravong along with energy senior officialsattended the event.
The agreement was set up afterthe meeting reviewed the cooperation in energy between the threecountries and drew up a cooperative programme in the future.
It focused on important issues regarding energy such as furtherenhancing cooperation in projects that connect the power networks of thethree countries, especially the 230 Kv and 500 Kv projects; exploringthe hydroelectric potential of the Mekong river in line with protectingthe environment and ecosystem; as well as developing human resources inthe power industry.
The agreement is seen as animportant foundation for the three countries to continue theircooperation in energy with the target of sustainable, stable and cleandevelopment.
According to the Vietnamese Ministryof Industry and Trade, the cooperation between the three countriesachieved good results recently with a large number of Vietnam’shydroelectric projects being carried out in Laos and Cambodia, helpingimprove people’s quality of life./.
