Leaders of the Vietnamese province of Quang Ngai and the Lao province of Attepeu have agreed to promote cooperation in rural development, agriculture, education, health, culture, television broadcasting, science and technology, and human resource development.

They pledged to create conditions for businesses to conduct market research and engage in economic, trade and investment contracts, during their working session in Quang Ngai province on Sept. 20.

They also signed a memorandum of understanding on future cooperation programmes.

Le Quang Thich, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee, outlined the recent progress of socio-economic development in Quang Ngai, especially development of the Dung Quat economic zone and other industrial zones, as well as services and agriculture.

Vasadi Khotnhotha, Deputy Secretary of the Attapeu Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of Attapeu province, provided a briefing on her province’s development, with a focus on human resource development, settlement of administrative procedures and poverty reduction.

During the visit to Quang Ngai province, Vasadi Khotnhotha and her entourage visited the cassava starch processing mill, the Dung Quat oil refinery and firms in the Dung Quat economic zone./.
