A high-ranking delegation from the Lao Government Inspection Authority, led by Inspector General Bounthong Chitmany joined a working session with the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam in Hanoi on July 7.

Speaking to the guests, Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh said their visit offers a good chance for both agencies to share experience in inspection work and in combating corruption.
This contributes to bolstering their cooperation in particular and the bilateral friendship in general, he added.

Along with the cooperation in all fields between the two countries, the government inspection agencies have maintained their close ties for nearly 20 years.

The two sides signed cooperation agreements in the field in 1998, 2005, 2007 and 2012, while keeping the exchange of visits at all levels, contributing considerably to completing politic tasks of the two agencies.

Chitmany spoke highly of Vietnam’s experience in combating corruption in recent years, expressing his hope that the two agencies will continue further promoting their links in the coming time.

During their week-long stay in Vietnam, which started from July 6, the Lao guests will pay a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. They will also hold talks with a delegation from the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Inspection and work with inspection agencies of Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang city.-VNA
