Vietnam and Laos are speeding up the compilation of a collection ontheir special history in an effort to hand down this valuable asset fortheir next generations.
The goal was made clearat a meeting opened in Vietnam ’s Vinh Phuc province on October 25 byTo Huy Rua, Politburo member and Secretary of the Central Committee ofthe Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and Head of the CPV CentralCommittee’s Information and Education Commission.
Rua, who co-chaired the event, emphasised that the work has drawn anumber of specialists, witnesses of history and top experts who haveworked hard in research and collecting documents on special relationsbetween the two countries to meet the deadline of late 2010 and produce avaluable book.
“It is a rich database and anarchive of special solidarity between the two Parties and nations whichis expected to leave a great impression on and be of high educationalvalue for young generations,” said the senior Party official.
He called on the steering boards of the two countries to make greaterefforts to have high quality publications, reminding them of draftediting, accuracy and true reflection of history as top concerns in theproject.
His view was shared by Samane Vinhaket,Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) CentralCommittee, and Head of the Steering Commission on Ideology, Theory andCulture of the LPRP Central Committee.
Vinhaket,co-chair of the meeting, emphasised that the collection of specialrelations between the two countries would leave a valuable asset foryoung generations.
Rua and Vinhaket are also headsof the steering boards of the project on compiling the history ofspecial relations between Vietnam and Laos in their own countries.
The boards have over the past four years compiled820 pages of main documents and 2,570 pages of diaries by Vietnameseand Lao leaders. The Vietnam Central Documentary and Scientific FilmsStudio has finished the shooting of four movies./.
