A ceremony to inaugurate a new couple of national landmarks on the common border line of Vietnam and Laos was held in the Nam Can international border gate in Ky Son district of the central province of Nghe An on Oct. 22.

The new landmarks in Nam Can are the first couple planted along the border line between Nghe An province and its Lao neighbouring province of Siengkhouang under the two countries’ plan to reinforce and expand the border landmark system.

Nghe An province is contiguous to Siengkhouang, Houaphan and Bolykhamsay provinces of Laos .

Under the two governments’ agreement on land border demarcation and plan to reinforce the border landmark system, the two countries’ authoritised agencies have defined 105 points for landmark planting./.
