The Fine Arts Associations of Vietnam and Laos will focus on improving the quality of fine arts and move towards advanced and national character-imbued fine arts in their cooperation in the coming time.

The contents were agreed upon at a working session between the two associations in the Lao capital, Vientiane, on July 11 to review the outcomes of mutual cooperation over the past years.

The Vietnamese association’s visiting delegation was led by its chairman Tran Khanh Chuong.

The two associations have worked closely to carry out a wide range of practical activities such as delegation exchanges and exhibitions to mark the 50 th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and 35 years since the signing of their Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

In the coming time, the two sides will continue delegation exchanges and prepare for the third meeting between the Fine Arts Associations of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia scheduled for November in Hanoi.

Vietnam’s association presented fine arts-related books to its Lao counterpart and promised to facilitate Lao painters’ visits to the country.

In the framework of the visit, the two sides co-organised a graphic picture exhibition.

The exhibition features 36 pieces from Vietnamese painters and 21 from the Lao side. They illustrate natural beauty, people’s lives, culture, friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association presented an insignia to Laos ’ Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala.-VNA
