Vietnam, Laos news agencies strengthen ties

A meeting full of warm sentiment and an atmosphere of brotherhood between former staff of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and their colleagues from the Laos News Agency – Khaosan Pathet Lao (KPL) took place on Apr. 12 in Vientiane.

This is part ofactivities for Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012, aiming to boostsolidarity and cooperation between the two news agencies.

At the meeting, KPL General Director Khamsen Vongsa said this eventreflects the close relationship and brotherhood between the twoagencies.

He said KPL staff has expected this eventfor days and they were excited to meet their brothers, colleagues andteachers who once worked and fought with them to report the most updatednews in the war.

Khamsen Vongsa said KPL willforever treasure the effective help of VNA, particularly its formerreporter and specialist staff over the years.

Speaking at the event, former KPL General Director, who is also formerDeputy Minister of Information and Culture, recalled memories of toughtimes Vietnamese and Lao reporters spent together in the war.

He expressed his belief that the fine sentiment and brotherhood between VNA and KPL will never fade.

On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, Nguyen The Nghiep thanked theLao side for their warm welcome. He reminisced about his memories whenworking beside KPL colleagues to fulfil tasks, despite difficultconditions in the war.

During the meeting, the VNAdelegation presented KPL with several precious photos of KPL formerreporters and leaders taken during wartime.-VNA

Vietnam, China celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
