Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President Choummaly Sayasone have affirmed to continue creating the best conditions for both sides’ businesses to foster their economic, trade and investment ties.

They made the affirmation during their meeting on November 25 in Vientiane on the margin of the eighth Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Summit (CLV-8) that took place in the Lao capital on November 24-25.

The two sides agreed to direct their ministries and localities to work closely to effectively realise agreements reached by high-ranking leaders as well as those reached during the 36th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee while preparing for the 37th meeting of the committee scheduled for early 2015.

They also reached consensus on speeding up the implementation of ODA-funded projects, strengthening cooperation in culture, education and training, science and technology, as well as expanding connections between the two countries’ ministries and localities.

The Vietnamese Government leader congratulated Laos on the achievements it has made under the leadership of the LPRP, stating that the Party, Government and people of Vietnam always stands side by side with the Lao people in their cause of building a wealthy and prosperous Lao nation.

President Choumaly Sayasone expressed his pleasure at the growing special ties between the two Parties, States and people, especially the fruitful cooperation in economy, trade and investment.

During his stay in Vientiane, PM Nguyen Tan Dung met the Vietnamese community there, affirming that they are an indispensable part of the Vietnamese nation.

He called on the community to continue promoting the revolutionary tradition and making more contributions to the national development while acting as a bridge between Vietnam and Laos.-VNA
