Finance Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and his Lao counterpart Phuphet Khamphunvong discussed a wide range of measures to step up bilateral financial cooperation during their talks in Hanoi on Dec. 12.
At the talks, the two ministers informed each other about the financial and economic situation of their respective country.
Minister Hue highlighted the close and deep financial cooperation between the two countries with an array of agreements being signed, helping promote mutual understanding and improve financial capacity for the Lao side.
He expressed his hope that the relations will be consolidated and developed in the coming time, contributing to the traditional friendship between the two countries.
For his part, Minister Phuphet Khamphunvong highly valued Vietnamese experts’ support for the development of Laos ’ financial sector.
Following the talks, the two ministers signed an agreement on financial regulations and management of Vietnamese non-refundable aid for Laos and a cooperation agreement between the two finance ministries in the 2011-2015 period.
On the occasion, the Lao Finance Ministry presented the Issara Order (Independence Order), third class, of the Lao state to Vietnam’s University of Finance and Marketing./.
