Hanoi (VNA) Vietnam recorded 609 new COVID-19 cases, including 603 domestic and six imported, in the past six hours to 6pm on July 12, the Ministry of Health announced.

Most of the domestic cases were detected in Ho Chi Minh City – the country’s currently largest pandemic hotspot, with 341 infections.

The remainders were found in Binh Duong (128), Khanh Hoa (31), Tien Giang (26), Phu Yen (17), Da Nang (140), Tra Vinh (8), Hau Giang (8), Quang Ngai (7), Soc Trang (4), Bac Ninh (4), An Giang (3), Hanoi (3), Thanh Hoa (2), Dong Thap (2), Nam Dinh (2), Binh Phuoc (2) and Dak Nong (1).

The new cases brought the total number of infections detected on July 12 to 2,383, including 2,367 domestic and 16 imported.

By 7pm on July 12, the country had logged 30,259 domestic infections and 1,940 imported cases.

Fifty-six patients were given the all-clear from coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 on the same day, raising the total number of recoveries to 9,331 while the death toll related to the disease was 123.

Among active patients, 339 have tested negative to the virus once, 130 twice and 70 thrice.

As many as 4,051,585 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered to people in priority groups, including 3,774,138 persons getting one shot and 277,447 fully receiving two jabs./.
