It is the second loss for the host at the tournament, with the team now ranked in the bottom four. Vietnam will play Brazil in the last match on November 22.

Vietnam on November 20 lost 1-2 to Japan in their first match. Japanese scored two goals at the 15th and 16th minutes, before Vietnam's Van Vu narrowed the score one minute later.

Meanwhile, world champions Brazil edged closer to the title after a second victory, defeating Asian champions Japan 2-1 and Asian first runner-up Thailand 5-1 in two earliers matches.

The November 19-22 tournament will provide a bonus of 5,000 USD to the winners. The two runners-up will receive 3,000 USD and 1,000 USD.-VNA
